Nabi village in Vyas valley of Pithoragarh district can be called as the gateway to Adi Kailash. Vyas Valley is situated on the Kailash Mansarovar route and is named after Rishi Vyas who is believed to have stayed in the region. The other major attractions of the valley are the Adi Kailash, Om Parbat & Kalapani.
Adi Kailash (5945M) which is also known as Chhota Kailash, resembles Mt Kailash in Tibet and has two lakes at its base : Gauri Kund and Parvati Sarovar.
Om Parbat (6191M) has a distinct impression of the “OM” symbol and is said to be the only one of the eight mountains in India with Om symbol, which has been identified.
Kali river is said to originate at Kalapani and marks the border between India and Nepal.
